My work

Associate professor, tennis player and coach, I am an expert in tennis biomechanics about performance optimization and injury risk factors. I work with players, coaches, medical staff and sports equipment manufacturers. In the short term, technical performance for tennis players means hitting the ball with speed, accuracy and/or spin to hinder the opponent’s return. In the long term, players must be able to reproduce their technical performance over a match, a tournament, a season or a career, while limiting the occurrence of injuries. How does the player’s environment (surface, equipment, shoes, fatigue) influence stroke biomechanics, performance and injury risk? Consequently, my goal is to answer the following questions: how biomechanics can help tennis players to increase performance and reduce injury risks? how does the player’s environment (surface, equipment, footwear, fatigue) influence stroke biomechanics, performance and injury risk?
